Trial chambers are where you earn the mace, heavy cores and wind charges. This Minecraft trial chambers finder shows where they generate from your seed. Enter your seed, pick the nearest result and copy the /tp command. You land on the surface above the chamber. Then dig down into a maze of copper and tuff rooms full of trial spawners.
What Trial Chambers Offer
Trial chambers are large underground complexes built from copper and tuff blocks. They are packed with trial spawners, which release waves of mobs based on how many players are nearby.
Beat a spawner and it drops loot and trial keys. Use those keys on vaults for better rewards. Ominous trial keys open ominous vaults, which can contain the heavy core used to craft a mace.
You also meet the breeze here. Breezes drop breeze rods, which craft wind charges. Copper blocks, bulbs and doors make the chambers a good building material source too.
How Trial Chambers Generate
In Java Edition, trial chambers use regions 34 chunks wide, with at least 12 chunks between attempts. That makes them fairly common. Most seeds have several within a short trip.
The starting room generates between Y -40 and Y -20. The rest of the complex spreads around it, so most rooms sit deep underground in the stone and deepslate layers.
They can generate under almost any Overworld biome. The one exception is the deep dark, which blocks the chamber's starting point.
Finding Trial Chambers in Game
Cartographer villagers can sell a trial explorer map. It points to a nearby trial chamber, much like the ocean and woodland maps.
You can also spot them while caving. Look for copper blocks, tuff bricks or waxed copper grates in cave walls. However, chambers are often sealed off from caves, so this method relies on luck.
A seed map gives you the location directly, without trading or searching.
Another clue is sound. Trial spawners and vaults make a faint noise through nearby rock. If you hear something odd while mining near Y -20, dig toward it. Still, sound only works at close range. A seed map shows chambers far beyond hearing distance, so you can choose the closest one before you set out.
Using the Trial Chambers Finder Map
Select your edition and version, then enter your seed. The map lists the nearest trial chambers by distance from spawn.
Click a result to copy coordinates or a /tp command. You arrive on the ground above the chamber. Next, dig down to around Y -20 and break in carefully. Trial spawners only activate when you get close, so you can choose where to start.
Switch to the 3D view to see the surface terrain. A chamber under flat land is a much quicker dig than one under a mountain.
Trial Chambers Version History
Trial chambers came with Java and Bedrock 1.21, the Tricky Trials update. That update also added the breeze, the bogged, the mace, wind charges and ominous trials. Worlds created before 1.21 will only have them in newly generated chunks, so pick 1.21 or later on the finder.
Tips for Clearing Trial Chambers
Trial spawners scale with the number of players nearby. Playing solo means smaller waves. Playing in a group means more mobs, but also more rewards.
After you beat a spawner, it goes on cooldown for about 30 minutes before it can be triggered again. Each vault also opens once per player, so friends can each use their own key on the same vault.
Bring the basics before you go in:
- A shield, since skeletons, bogged and breezes all attack from range.
- Food and a few healing potions.
- Blocks to seal off rooms you are not ready for.
- Torches, so normal mobs do not spawn in dark corners.
For the best loot, try an ominous trial. Enter the chamber with Bad Omen, and the effect turns into Trial Omen. Spawners then become ominous, with harder waves and better drops. Ominous trial keys open the ominous vaults that can hold the heavy core.
